Staging Rehearsal Email (Wed. May 27)

Hey dance families!

Can you believe it…Recital Week is here! Here are some reminders for today:

  • Today (Wednesday, May 27) is staging rehearsal at the Ripon Performing Arts Center. No costumes are needed, just the correct dance shoes. The schedule can be found on page 9 of the Recital Playbook.
  • ALL dancers are in a group dance too, so be sure you’re there for that rehearsal time! Coordinating 75ish dancers on the stage at the same time starts out a little messy, and will take some time to get right. But we’ll run through it several times if needed, to make sure everyone knows what’s going on 🙂
  • If you are a stage mom, you will come on the stage every time your class comes on stage (today and tomorrow) so you can practice lining them up.
  • We have a pretty good track record of staying on schedule, or running AHEAD of schedule! If we are ahead of schedule by more than 15 minutes, we will take a break. If we are ahead of schedule by less than 15 minutes, we will continue moving through the dances. This means that your class might be called to the stage EARLIER than the time block that you are assigned to, so please arrive early, and be ready with the correct shoes on.
  • You can help us stay on schedule by:
    • Remaining quiet in the auditorium while we are working with a class on stage.
    • Arriving on time and paying attention to the schedule so your dancer is ready when it’s their turn.
  • Again, the schedule can be found here.

Our show week motto is “No stress allowed!” We’ve tried to lay everything out in a way that is clear, because we believe that CLARITY IS KINDNESS. But if you have questions, now is the time to ask 🙂

See you soon!
